Field Day Carnival 2012


We are excited to announce our FIELD DAY – TUESDAY, MAY 22. This year, FIELD DAY is a lot different, with a new set up and different activities, which we are thrilled to share with you all. 

VOLUNTEERS
We NEED parent volunteers for FIELD DAY. I have posted the grade level schedule below. IF YOU CAN HELP, PLEASE CONTACT ME BY EMAIL OR SEND THE PORTION BELOW BACK TO ME.

There will be 8 - 10 stations, with each station being around 10 – 15 minutes long. Each station will have an entire class participating at that station. I would like to have at least one parent per station plus a couple of extra parents for re-supplying the stations. This year we will be having popcorn and snow cones for students after they finish all of the stations. I also need parents to run these areas. I will take all of the help I can get!

SESSION SCHEDULE

Session I               First Grade & Third Grade                  8:10am – 9:55am             
                          (Snacks: 9:55am – 10:10am)

Session II              Kinder & Second Grade                     10:00am – 11:45am
                          (Snacks: 1st 12:20pm – 12:40pm)
                          (Snacks: Kinder 12:40pm – 1pm)

Session III             Fourth Grade & Fifth Grade               12:00pm – 1:45pm
                          (Snacks: 1:30pm – 1:55pm)

CLOTHING & ATTIRE
  • SHORTS & T SHIRT – need to be comfortable and ready to move
  • ATHLETIC SHOES – they need to be safe movers and runners
  • WATER – lots of H20, to keep hydrated
  • HATS – great to protect their noses and ears from the sun
  • SUNCREEN – to protection from the sun
  • TOWEL – just in case they get wet… you never know!
  • CHANGE OF CLOTHESsandals/flip flops, socks & underwear too) – They will get wet!
  • A GREAT ATTITUDE – we will have some competition, and we need sportsmanship
In order for your child to participate in play day activities he/ she will need to have a change of clothes. Children that do not have these items at school on FIELD DAY will NOT be allowed to participate.

Please remember that clothing needs to follow the student handbook and that bathing suits are not permitted. Students can wear swimsuit underneath their clothing.

Here is a list of additional items and equipment that we could really use this year. Please put your last name on your equipment, unless it is something you would like to donate it permanently to our school.

-       Swimming flippers: 4 pairs/sets
-       Big scuba goggles: 4
-       Snorkels: 4
-       XXL T Shirts: 4
-       Swim Floaties: 4 pairs
-       Inflatable Beach Balls: 24
-       6 ft Plastic Pools: 4
-       Foam Noodles: 4

ADDITIONAL NEEDED EQUIPMENT (to borrow only)
-       10 Gallon Buckets: 6 – 10
-       Ice Chests: 4 – 6

Popcorn & Snow Cone: Served to students once all stations are completed

EXPECTATIONS

1. BE KIND
   - Cheer for your class, not against the other classes
   - Take turns and help your class mates
   - Be encouraging and nice to everyone
2. BE SAFE
   - Wear your PE shoes and proper attire   - Listen at all times
   - Stay with your group and in your area. Ask a teacher if you need to leave
3. HAVE FUN
   - Everyone must follow rules 1 & 2 at all times, or this rule will not happen

BEHAVIOR

Important reminder: If a student has received 3 or more T.A.G. forms during the school year, they will not be invited to field day - No Exceptions (It was their responsibility to earn it). Students not invited can stay with another teacher during their class’ field day. All other behaviors and incidents will be reviewed, and a decision will be made at the discretion of the Teachers, administration, and myself.
